13th September11, Tuesday. Its time again for baby R to trim her "very long hair"! Well... i have gotten over with it that i will get reminders that its time to get baby R to cut her hair... it used to bother me when i was told to bring her to the hairdresser to get her hair ROUNDED... cos it usually ended up making baby R look like an orange with her short crop... worse, its the struggle she puts up, crying wiggling so hard that makes the haircut experience awful not jus for the gal but for me too cos i am always the one holding on to her... with the preganancy things changed... i tried to snip off her fringe while she was asleep and trim it neatly when she woke up and it worked! I had a second attempt back some months ago and that was to cut her hair all around and with daddy support holding onto her, patiently telling her to sit still, i managed my 1st hair cut and i was praised by aunt K that i did a neat job! Aunt K used to cut the my cousin, sis and my hair when we were young!

With PILs, daddy and of cos , me urging her to have her hair trimmed over 2 weeks cos esp her fringe was getting in the way... when she was at the potty with mil after she woke up... i jus ask casually as usual... and expecting a NO for an answer... Darling, do you want mummy to cut your hair? baby R answered OKie!

Immediately i got my pair of scissors and went searching for her comb frantically! Action has to FAST! i dashed to the toilet and mil checked if i needed comb and she was prob impressed how fast i got my stuff! i told her must strike while the iron is HOT! baby R sat with her jus-woke-up blur face on the big potty and quietly steady, i started working on her hair...

Started with the fringe... had the scissors a little high so in the end she ended up with pretty much a shorter fringe it did prob looked funnier or alittle too stylo with her long hair... but daddy loves it saying it gives baby R a fresher look and said baby R's hair grow pretty fast... then i managed to cut the side and moved on to the back that was when she struggled to sit still then it wasnt that neat as there were a few strands that were slightly longer.... but i managed to keep it looking quite neat and the other side the same length as the 1st side i cut!

after the haircut, i showered with baby R and she was feeling happy! i was happy too! She was chirpy when showed her new hairdo... and daddy loves it when he came home from work, he told her she look so cute and pretty, baby R grinned... well... as long as the haircut wasnt a struggle, a battle, a nag at me but at her, drumming baby R instead of me... i dun mind baby R with short hair as long as she dun look like an orange, she do look fresh and as long as there is not special occasion to attend after the haircut... cos ever we had her hair cut and there was nothing i could do with her super short crop and it didnt help when she was much younger she already didnt had much hair...

so over the year, i guess the lesson learnt is to give way to each other. baby R and i won't be nagged about the hair issue till the Big occasion is over and  for me when the big occasion is over, i will try to trim her hair, nagging my gal on my own to support the "its time to cut hair project"!
