How does baby R know about Smurfs?

I bought an issue of 8days cos i was chasing the end of the tv series Dong Yi... Gx took the magazine to do the Singaporean quiz and when he saw the smurf poster in the mag, he started singing the Smurf song and baby R was so tickled to hear his daddy doing the Lalala La... she ran over to see what daddy was refering to...then she saw these blue cartoon creatures and we told her these were daddy and mummy favourite and we grew up with their cartoon in the 80s! that weekend, baby R and i hit Toy R'us with Aunt O and Ly yiyi, baby R got so thrilled to see the blue smurfy soft toys and she was lucky cos Aunt O sponsored her Smurfette and its been her favourite toy since August! Baby R would bring Smurfette everywhere in the house and make sure she had her in bed under the same blankey as her before she sleeps!

Thanks to Aunt O who bought baby R and i smurf tees and that prompt us to organise a little movie outing to watch smurf together! Too bad not all the little yiyis could make it for the show! Lucky for us the movie went on with at least one little yiyi as we promised baby R she would be watching the show with yiyis and there is no need to be afraid of the dark big theartre that has many others in it.... baby R went in excited but she was so ready to dash out of the cinema once she was put on the seat! daddy chased her while i settled down with the bags and tidbits...

when i was out looking for my gal, she was hugging daddy very tightly and i could see her shaking her head... She has rejected Gx's proposal of trying to enter the cinema again... i told her yiyi is waiting for her to sit next to her to watch the movie with her... then i told her if she is scared she can cover her ears and close her eyes till the movie started... when i told baby R i had chips waiting for her, she moved and we tried again.... she sure covered her ears and closed her eyes as she watched the upcoming kids films trailer! When she tried to attempt to leave the cinema again, so glad Ly yiyi helped to calm her down by asking her to cover her ears but to keep her eyes open so she can see whats happening... while i quickly made baby R her afternoon milk! she settled down nicely with the milk but she tugged herself under daddy's "armpit", hiding her face in daddy's arms when she is scared...

the movie started and baby R heard the Smurf song that daddy had been singing! She was super excited to see Smurfette that she sat up and pointed to the screen, forgetting her fears! When baby R was done with the milk, she managed to sit thru half the movie watching in daddy's arms hugging her... when baby R's patience had worn out, we introduce popcorn to her and that saved our day! Baby R loved the popcorn and she sat inbewteen us too watch the movie, laughed with us and constantly having her hands digging into the metal coke tin of popcorn!

Our 1st Family Movie was a success!

the movie was a simple movie but to me it was a very happy movie and i was so thrilled to see my favourite blue cartoon characters on the big screen! The Smurf tune just keep popping into my head and baby R asked her daddy, Sing the Smurf Song! It was funny weird that our gal fell in love with smurfs before she even had watched the movie but that really helps us pull thru our first movie outing!
