When i was about to send out the invitation message, i decided to design an invite especially for my mum... emailed my mum and i was happy to receive her reply THANKS VERY NICE I LIKE IT. it meant alot to me that my mum liked it. These are the little things i could do for my mum... i may not be able to provide for my mum fully, buy her many things but i am glad she recognise the little things i can do for her...
when i was sourcing where to order the cake for mum, i couldnt stand the usual Soutao designed cakes they had ... i had done that many times for my grandpa... almost all the design i see and i say they werent what i wanted for mum! so i did my own design based on the invitation i made and got Pines to do it... i requested them not to put up my pic for their customers to choose cos they emilaed me their previous designs and not say my design is superb, seriuosly its a simple design but its created y me especially for my mum! the reply was they can't be sure it won't be copied if other found it on website that my relatives post on... i am prob the only one who post anything about this cake! can't be helped if its replicated, if it is then someone out there liked what i did... the only consolation.
while waiting for everyone to arrive at sis' place for the cake cutting, i got baby R to hand Popo the dvd we made... i would say baby R helped me out alot thru the slide making cos she left me to work on the slide while she played on her own, finding things to fill up her time while i was busy.... she knew i needed time and was rushing and had no time to play with her... she has been so good. so blessed!
happy family portraits!
i had ordered a specialty cake of Pines... no alcohol so i choose a highly recommended flavour on their FB by a very satisfied customer... Mango Passionfruit. Gx told me his feelings about this cake flavour! He say looking at the cake, he tot it would be a sweet mango cake... then when he had his first bite, he never expected the cake to be sour! but i say its not veyr sour and its sweet too jus not very very sweet as he had expected it to be! Sis loved the cake cos she finds the sweet-sour taste refreshing! mum tot the cream was gog to be too much but the cream was light and nice. i find the cake sponge soft and the whole cake was really different and appetising!
everyone sat eating their cake and watching the video i made for my mum. it consist as many photos as i can find from year 2003 till now! Childhood pics were contributed by sis and i, pics we scanned for our wedding slide... bro didnt reply to any of my emails... and i hardly could find pics of mum with him except on his bdaes! My mum also somehow had hardly any pics taken with Uncle Jh! so i made sure he took a pic with my mum on her 60th bdae! i cried like mad when i did the slide... i got very emotional... watching how my mum aged over the years and really my mum's effort in bringing us up and holding on to this family... I had chosen The Prayer in instrumental followed by She by Elvis Costello, Wind beneath my wings by Bette Midler and ending the slide with family's favourite instrumental piece Forest Gump theme song... and to brighten the ending, i was glad i made videos of baby R singing the cantonese version of birthday song and compiling the 4 takes out of 6 takes she did at the end of the slide made everyone laughed cos baby R was really sweet, clever, funny and cheeky!
My cousin A gave mum a box of bird nest while the boys got my mum a golden egg with the longevity wording! mum was happy to see the card the boys wrote... she proudly showed it to me when the guest left... Popo left me to eat my cake while she watch tv with baby R... they were watching Avatar and popo didnt know what to say when baby R asked whats that blue thing cos mum was watching the show for the 1st time too! When daddy came back for us after ferrying pils home... i was glad daddy gave me some time to speak to mum... to chill out with mum... and also thanks to my dear hubby who paid for the dinner on my behalf... he was really sweet to let me stay past 12mn then we head home. Glad mum is happy.
