Mezza9 @ Hyatt

19th Sept11, Monday. Rainy day. I made my way out as planned to town to get some stuff from Daiso... it was heavens at Daiso and i simply decided to take as much as i wanted cos i dun think i would return here for awhile... esp things that i need for my party... suppose to wait for GX to pick my up at isetan, but the rain stopped and i decided to walk over to Hyatt myself... cos he was already very late and when i called him, he was still in his office and i wasnt in my best mood to keep cool and i didnt want to spoil the luncheon... called for a glass of orange passionfruit drink and this was sourish which was good and bad... cos i dun like stuff that is sour but i was feeling so breatheless from climbing the escalator at the underpass which left me so tired... so the sour perk me up while i look thru the menu... i ordered my set before gx came and when gx turned up he still had to answer his phone calls...

For Starter... i kind of regretted getting the daily soup - western which was mushroom soup for that day... cos it was not as thick as i liked it to be... still like the one at M Hotel if they still remain the same standard...and while i drank my soup first, gx ordered his lunch set... he chosen smoked scottish salmon and it was paired with small bits of what we tot could be salted veg! haha... but gx say it was still ok...  for my main course i ordered rotisserie chicken, mixed vegetables, roast potato, rosemary, sea salt.

The chicken was well seasoned with salt but taste normal and i was disappointed not able to taste much of the rosemary! I actually enjoyed the vegetables more... peppers and squash. The portion was not like what we expected... it was much more than we tot they would serve! Gx had medium rare charcoal-grilled minute Waygu steak, grilled asparagus and fries. His asparagus was nicely grilled and his steak he say was alright.... i dun take beef so i dun know how it was...

when i booked online i did mention i was celebrating our wedding anniversary. so we were given a slice of cheesecake on the house. it came with a candle and words written in chocolate... our attempt to self take some couple shots werent very clear.. guess too long never take shots on our way, gx lost touch on the angles and mostly turned out blur... Gx had suggested replating our rings and i laughed cos i say not sure if after preganancy can still wear my ring!

For my 3-course dessert, i chose lemon curd tart while gx ordered hazelnut icecream! my tart sitting on top of a pool of red berries sauce... i hated the sauce! its not neccessary cos it make my tart so complex and more sour! i had to lift up the tart away from the sour berries sauce and taste the lemony sour filling on a very thin crusted tart with chocolate filling... i think i love my lemon tart simple but sadly the one i like has closed its doors... Gx had a blast with his and i love the creamy hazelnut icecream! Gx liked the brittle while i jus simply prefer the icecream alone not that the brittle isnt nice... the cheesecake was alright cos i prefered the one at M hotel or even the one i  bought for mum's bdae from NYDC cos this was alittle lighter alittle fluffier i like heavier texture cheesecake! GX cleared more than i could... i had to sit back, slouch with my baby belly facing up cos i was feeling so full and tight!

The food was alright not say fantastic maybe the weekend buffet would be a different experience cos i had heard so many good reviews... but i personally dun like the place ambience. the ceiling is low, dark as they have any windows in the resturant and everyone seems to need to sit pretty close to each other! the seat i was first taken to was squeshed bewteen 2 other single table and i told the lady i prefer a quieter area cos i wasnt feeling so well! so i was given a quiet 2 person bar seat... facing a cold fridge display with a couple of chefs working and occasionally chatting at their work station... it was better than sitting at the crowded area where executives were all busy chatting thru their lunches... they did try to get me another table but i chose to stay where we were cos there werent any privacy where they were about to move us... and i wanted to be able to be feel free to take pics...

dun think i will come back unless its to try the weekend buffet spread cos to have cosy celebrations this is prob not the place and maybe dinner would be better... but too bad we only had time to do lunch cos we had to run errands, register baby R for N1 next year and then head down to gynae for our appointment... wish it could had been a better experience before i gave birth cos not sure when gx and i would have another chance to take our time to use both hands to eat our food slowly... a chance to catch up and enjoy couplehood!
